How to Install Tabletop Simulator

1. Check Minimum System Requirements

2. Install Steam Client

How to install Steam:

  1. Visit https://store.steampowered.com/about
  2. Click the ‘Install Steam Now’ button and allow the Steam installer to download.
  3. Once downloaded, click ‘run/open’ and follow the instructions to install the Steam client onto your computer.
  4. When the Steam client starts, you will be prompted to log in or create a Steam account.

3. Create Steam Account (skip if you already have one)

  1. Run the Steam client from your Windows Start Menu then click the “CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT…” button to start the New Steam Account wizard:


  2. Click the “CREATE NEW ACCOUNT” button:


  3. If a screen explaining that you shouldn’t create multiple Steam accounts appears, click on the “NEXT” button. 
  4. Review the ‘Steam Subscriber Agreement’, then click the “I AGREE” button:


  5. Review the ‘Privacy Policy’, then click the “I AGREE” button:


  6. Choose a nice account name for yourself and enter it into ‘Account Name. Steam will tell you if the name you enter is already used and ask you to enter a different account name.

    Then, choose a good strong password and enter into the ‘Password’ and ‘Retype Password’ boxes then click on “NEXT” button:

  7. Enter your contact email address, Steam will require this to be an email address that isn’t already associated with a Steam account – if your email is associated with an existing Steam account you can cancel the new account creation and use “RETRIEVE A LOST ACCOUNT” button on the Steam Login dialog to regain access to the existing account.   

    After entering your email address, click the “NEXT” button:


  8. Select a suitable “Secret Question” from the list and enter your answer, then click the “NEXT” button:


  9. If you want a printed copy of your Steam account information click the “Client here to print this page now” link, then click the “NEXT” button:


  10. Review the information about how the Steam client is accessed after it is started, then click the “FINISH” button:

After creating your Steam account you can login into the Steam client.   

4. Buy Tabletop Simulator

Step 1. Launch the Steam application on your computer. You’ll land on your Steam home screen. Click “Store” if it isn’t selected already.

Step 2. Enter the “Tabletop Simulator” in the search bar, and then click it in the list of results that appear.

Step 3. Scroll down the screen until you see an option to buy this game. Click “Add to Cart” to the right of the buy option. The Your Shopping Cart screen appears, with this item displayed in the shopping cart.

Step 4. Scroll down this screen and then click “Purchase for Myself.” The Payment Info screen appears.

Step 5. Select your payment method, and then enter the required information. After entering all of the required information, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and then click “Continue.” The Review Purchase screen appears.

Step 6. Click to place a check mark in the box to agree to the Steam terms of service, and then click “Purchase.” A Thank You For Your Purchase screen appears, telling you that an email confirmation of your purchase has been sent to you. Additionally, you can scroll down the screen to see a receipt for your purchase.

5. Install Tabletop Simulator

Step 1. Launch the Steam application on your computer. You’ll land on your Steam home screen. Click “Library” if it isn’t selected already to see your list of games.

Step 2. Choose “Tabletop Simulator”, click the “Install” button, and follow the on-screen prompts to start downloading the game.

Step 3. A download progress bar will appear at the bottom of the window. Once this completes, the “Install” button will change to a “Play” button.

Step 4. Click on the “Play” button to launch the game.
